12/19/2023 0 Comments Xfinity gateway moca network![]() Ordinarily, I would start off asking a number of clarifying questions, which rarely get answered and I will just skip to my best guess. Has anyone had similar problems? Am I doomed with using MOCA? If there is a moca adapter connected anywhere, the modern dies. I spent several hours trying to connect stuff around, but to no avail. As soon as he connected it, it took about 5 or 10 minutes and the modern went off line thus bringing the set-top down. But that he was going to connect it back so as to leave it like it was. He told me he got the system to work by leaving the mini out of the loop. He showed me that the set-top was working, and that there was internet. When he was waiting for the boot he was talking on the phone with comcast and he told me that comcast had changed the MOCA settings throughout all their devices, effective THAT MORNING! and that my MOCA devices were incompatible. Since the mini was close to the modem, he disconnected the mini and that made the modem boot up, but without connecting the moca that was behind the old modem. The Romio was still working, as far as the TV is concerned, but was not connecting to the internet. Which led to the set-top not to boot up either. ![]() The tech came and changed the modem and the set-top. They also said the modem was working fine, because they could see it from their end, but I could see all the lights were not on. anyway they said they were going to send a tech next day. I called and they said is the coax cable connected? Geezz. ![]() Since the set-top box uses the internet to authenticate, it went down also. Saturday night the comcast modem started going down intermittently. Have 2 or 3 MOCA connections for extending network access. ![]()

12/19/2023 0 Comments Marigold downton abbey![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When her lover is finally declared dead, Edith inherits his publishing enterprise. However, the farmer's wife doesn't know Edith is the real mother, gets fed up with Edith's hanging around, insists she stop visiting, until, finally, Edith, says enough! I am taking my baby. Plucky Edith refuses to leave her baby in Switzerland, brings her back to England, arranges for a tenant farmer and his wife to raise the "orphan," which Edith will take on as a special charge, visiting often, bringing gifts, taking care of her. Ever wonder why Dickens, the master of wickedly appropriate names for his fictional characters, chose "Lady Dedlock" for the deeply closeted first mother in Bleak House? I never did. Girls left high school and college in shame some entered dreadful maternity homes and were told not even to share their real names with the other girls there others hid out with relatives or journey to cities where they knew no one and left quickly after their babies were given up (that would be fellow blogger Jane) women left jobs (that would be me) movie stars went away and "adopted" their own children, ala Loretta Young and others. In other cases, fathers and mothers, especially fathers, were adamant: the baby must be given up. I was mortified to the point that I kept my baby, like Lady Edith, secret from my family until I became a crusader before the decade was out. She will thus avoid shame and scandal, which could bring down not only her good name, but that of the whole lot of the Crawleys.Īlthough a lot had changed by the time Jane my fellow blogger and I had our babies in 1966, I couldn't help thinking. Soon enough, the Dowager Countess, Edith's canny grandmother, figures out the truth, but Edith is determined to keep the secret from the rest of her family. Back home in England, Edith learns she is pregnant, goes off to Switzerland with her aunt to have the baby in secret. ![]() He goes to Germany as Hitler's Brownshirts are on the rise in order to get a divorce (not possible in England then), but he gets in the way of a pack of hooligans and is killed. His wife is institutionalized, never to get well. In brief, the unmarried but smart Lady Edith, the middle daughter who brings no estate or great fortune with her, falls in love with the owner of the newspaper she writes a column for.Īlas, he is married. Only this time the baby is a direct descendant of Lord and Lady Grantham. That broke the floodgates on my tears-he would be shocked and horrified that he came from such lowly stock if he found out later-but here we are again with an illegitimate child. I am glued to this story line, just as I was when the Maid Ethel in a previous season turned over her baby to his wealthy, upper class grandparents, agreeing to stay on as a servant-but not tell her son until much later who true identity. The stakes are high, the scandal is huge, the shame would be great. Lady Edith's story on Downton Abbey of what to do with her "bastard" baby Marigold has us in the adoption community engrossed and disturbed, always anxious about how this mother-and-child bond is going to be played, since MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ARE WATCHING.īecause more than eight million viewers tuned in for the first episode this season, a lot of people will be influenced by how the Crawley family handles the baby born of an unwed mum-and the mum herself, Lady Edith. ![]() 12/19/2023 0 Comments Foto de fire![]() ![]() Perseus is one of the most massive structures known in the Universe, located ‘just’ 240 million light-years away from Earth.Īstronomers demonstrated that galaxy clusters like Perseus can only have formed if dark matter is present in the Universe. Many of these faint galaxies were previously unseen. The image shows 1000 galaxies belonging to the Perseus Cluster, and more than 100 000 additional galaxies further away in the background. This incredible snapshot from Euclid is a revolution for astronomy. The first images captured by Euclid are awe-inspiring and remind us of why it is essential that we go to space to learn more about the mysteries of the Universe,” says ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher.Įuclid’s view of the Perseus cluster of galaxies “I wish to congratulate and thank everyone involved with making this ambitious mission a reality, which is a reflection of European excellence and international collaboration. “Our high standards for this telescope paid off: that there is so much detail in these images, is all thanks to a special optical design, perfect manufacturing and assembly of telescope and instruments, and extremely accurate pointing and temperature control,” adds Giuseppe Racca, ESA’s Euclid Project Manager. Now we are ready to observe billions of galaxies, and study their evolution over cosmic time,” says René Laureijs, ESA’s Euclid Project Scientist. ![]() They are even more beautiful and sharp than we could have hoped for, showing us many previously unseen features in well-known areas of the nearby Universe. “We have never seen astronomical images like this before, containing so much detail. “Euclid will make a leap in our understanding of the cosmos as a whole, and these exquisite Euclid images show that the mission is ready to help answer one of the greatest mysteries of modern physics.” Euclid will for the first-time allow cosmologists to study these competing dark mysteries together,” explains ESA Director of Science, Professor Carole Mundell. “Dark matter pulls galaxies together and causes them to spin more rapidly than visible matter alone can account for dark energy is driving the accelerated expansion of the Universe. The images released today showcase this special capacity: from bright stars to faint galaxies, the observations show the entirety of these celestial objects, while remaining extremely sharp, even when zooming in on distant galaxies. What makes Euclid’s view of the cosmos special is its ability to create a remarkably sharp visible and infrared image across a huge part of the sky in just one sitting. By doing this, it will create the largest cosmic 3D map ever made. To reveal the ‘dark’ influence on the visible Universe, over the next six years Euclid will observe the shapes, distances and motions of billions of galaxies out to 10 billion light-years. But we don’t understand what they are because their presence causes only very subtle changes in the appearance and motions of the things we can see. 95% of our cosmos appears to be made of these mysterious ‘dark’ entities. Euclid, our dark Universe detective, has a difficult task: to investigate how dark matter and dark energy have made our Universe look like it does today. ![]() 12/19/2023 0 Comments Arch linux sublime text install![]() ![]() We will then explore the different ways you can customize the Sublime Text interface and configure it for your Linux environment. 12/19/2023 0 Comments Emanuel steward mike tyson![]() ![]() I think a lot of it has to do with matching Mike properly. Mike Tyson still is a draw, even if he feels up to it or not. And let me tell you something else, Mike Tyson can still go to Europe or wherever. I don't say just boxing, but sports.ī: A few people in the business think that there is probably still a market out there for a third meeting with Evander Holyfield.ī: The promoters could be probably pull off bringing Mike back against Evander, neither man looked great in their last outing.Įmanuel Steward: I would have to say that Evander would still have to be favored, it's just a matter of styles. Mike and Ali are different types, but he has a tremendous impact on sports. Mike has been a tremendous enigma that has had a tremendous impact on sports, more then any athlete in long time and right up there with Muhammad Ali I would have to say. ![]() Mike is doing the same thing to some degree. At 40, you don't expect someone to run around threatening people, hollering and all that unless something is wrong with them. People are saying "oh he quit", but Mike can still captivate a crowd on a moments notice. Mike is still one of my favorite fighters and Mike Tyson's popularity is still going to be big. Mike Tyson has not had his heart into boxing for a long time, but I respect him. Mike realized that he just did not have his heart in it and there was too much and he just quit. This guy happened to be a big guy, wasn't afraid of him, and put Mike in a real awkward position. Traditionally he has always had problems with big guys who are not afraid of him. I didn't see the fight, I was doing the HBO broadcast, but evidentially he put up a good effort. And still I respect him for his performance. © 2023 NYP Holdings, Inc.Emanuel Steward: Mike has not had his heart into boxing for a long time. It was one of many fight outcomes Steward accurately predicted. This is a fight he damn sure is going to win. Steward then told King, “If Evander doesn’t do anything else in his life, he’s going to beat Mike’s. We’re just worried about Mike killing him.’ ” One of my favorite Steward stories is when he warned Don King not to match Mike Tyson with Holyfield: “When they finally made the fight, I told Don at the press conference, ‘You made a big mistake putting Mike in there with Evander.’ Don said, ‘Man, we can hardly get the guy licensed. It’s a stunning loss for the boxing community, a lost link to a great era when Hearns, Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler and Roberto Duran did battle. He had worked as a boxing analyst for the network since 2001, offering accurate, understated commentary. ![]() HBO will present a video tribute to Steward during its “Boxing After Dark” telecast tonight. If you needed insight, he offered it without pointing blame at someone else. He took your phone calls even when you had tough questions. Steward treated everyone the same: with respect. He was as friendly and approachable then as he was more than 15 years later when I was covering boxing for The Post. I covered the city’s boxing circuit, and Steward brought a few of his KRONK fighters in for an MSG broadcast from Beale Street. That’s what he did when I first met him 1985 as a cub reporter working for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis. He did, and Steward gave him all the time he needed. “Just walk up to him and introduce yourself,” I told him. But his most endearing quality was his humility.Īt the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight in May in Las Vegas, a young reporter covering his first boxing event came up to me and asked what the protocol was for interviewing Steward, who was across the room. He founded the famed KRONK gym and became a Hall of Fame trainer of champions: Hilmer Kenty, Thomas Hearns, Holyfield, Oscar De La Hoya, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko and a host of others. It was in Steward’s DNA to help people, especially young kids trying to better themselves through boxing. “Sometimes some people can’t help what they do,” Steward said of Womack. He spent 18 years in prison before committing suicide in 2002. But Womack shot someone in the leg while robbing a video store, using a car registered to Steward. He took him into his home, gave him money and tried to offer guidance. Yet Steward gave him every opportunity to succeed. Womack was the kind of fighter who struck fear in opponents, but he also had a dark side. Olympic boxing team until he was beaten by a little known light heavyweight named Evander Holyfield. Usher’s languid delivery and unhurried movements inhabit the grey zone between coming on too strong and not coming on strong enough, part of what makes the song (and old school R&B) compelling. It’s easy to slap the label “art” on any provocative music video, and it’s hard to make the case that “Good Kisser’s” video is such, but it is a portrait of basic human desire (of course dolled up for marketing purposes) that makes you believe every word Usher drawls. He keeps grandiose steps at a minimum, mostly moving to a series of impulses spurred by the kinetic energy of the bottom-heavy drum and bass combo. Make sure you watch the music video Usher’s choreography is a lesson on the art of simplicity and instinct. Usher’s lyricism combines the romantic overtures of the ‘70s with the blunt propositions that permeate hip-hop tracks, though the latter is sneakily veiled through euphemisms and down-accents. Though Usher would be the last musician I’d expect to adhere to the philosophy of more cowbell, he employs it to create a jazzy effect, making “Good Kisser” a perfect late-night song in the vein of Leon Ware (one of Marvin Gaye’s many songwriters). Usher’s beat on “Good Kisser” blows away his contemporaries because it’s built upon a drum and bass riff instead of a looped sample. Usher Puckers Up With New Single Good Kisser Invading the Charts. Though many R&B artists have abandoned their roots, Usher bucks this trend, and his new single, “Good Kisser,” which dropped Monday, is arguably the best song of 2014 so far. bass guitar, amid singles Good Kisser and She Came to Give It to You in 2014.
